
In an effort to keep things light around the school we created various spirit days this month for the teachers. Today was Holiday Day in February!! Don’t they look nice?


Students in 8th Grade Team Gold celebrated the 100th day of school in Mrs. Lundmark, Ms. Wolterstorff, and Mrs. Kanak's classes today. Some of the activities included coming up with 100 different ways to write 100, trying to spend as close as they could to $100 without going over, doing jumping jacks for 100 seconds, writing a poem with 100 words, and more. It was a great day in the Gold hallway!





8th grade math team competed in the MathCounts competition at Olivet this morning. The team took home first place trophies, and Hayden Berens and Owen Marcukaitis won first and second place as individuals.


Out of 31 teams! The BUGC Cheerleaders placed 2nd in the state of Illinois! Let's go!

Congratulations to our BUGC spelling bee winners! Davis won 1st place with the word “visite.” Braedon won 2nd place, and Joe won 3rd place. Excellent job to all of the spelling bee participants! They spelled some very tough words!

BUGC ended the semester with an assembly of fun!! We enjoyed various minute to win it games and snowball fights (dodgeball) against students, teachers, administration and even parents joined in the fun!!





Our 8th Grade Math students created a “Tessellated Christmas Tree”. Which means to cover a plane surface by repeated use of a single shape, without gaps or overlapping. Merry Math-mas!!


On Wednesday, members of the 7th and 8th Grade flute section performed for the residents at the Riverside Assisted Living. They were grateful to be able to spread holiday cheer to the community, and wishes everyone a very Happy Holiday season!



Mrs. Eastman’s class created Christmas Compliment Carriers in SEL this week to promote kindness. Each student decorated a stocking, and then wrote every classmate one kind compliment to send them into a positive winter break!

On the Friday before thanksgiving, Mrs. Eastman’s class spent some time interacting with each other through board games. This was a great time to see our SEL conversation skills come through!
