Tonight we celebrate the 8th Grade Volleyball Team as they play their last home game. It is also Coach McKenzie’s last home game after 36 years of coaching volleyball!
BUGC SOCCER TRY OUTS have been moved today (2/24) to Liberty. The time is 4:45-6:30 p.m. Students are responsible for their own transportation. Athletes should wear shin guard, tennis shoes (No cleats)
Former BUGC Principal and current BBCHS Football coach Mr. Nelson stopped by Mr. Outsen's and Ms. Papanicholas's 8th Grade Social Studies classes to talk about World War II, which 8th Graders are currently studying. Mr. Nelson shared the personal story of his father, Albert Nelson, and his journey from Dwight, Illinois through Europe after D-Day in 1944 - 1945. He even brought in some war artifacts for the students to examine and ask questions about.
The BUGC Cheerleaders placed 2nd in State. Tonight they were recognized at the Village Board Meeting! Proud of our girls and proud to be part of a village that supports them in this way!!
The BUGC 7/8 Grade Volleyball Game has been cancelled for today (2/13). There is no Volleyball practice for 6/7/8.

The deadline to order your BUGC yearbook is Friday, 2/14. The cost is $30. If you are paying by check, please make it out to Image Group. If you need a form, there are some in the office or you may print the attached.
After 2/14, there will be a limited number for sale for $35.
Students in Mrs. Flowers' class integrated newly learned skills on a graphic design program with important quotes from A Raisin in the Sun. The final product was a colorful spread of literature!
Students in Mrs. Buck's 7th grade math class collaborated to solve transversal puzzles. Students had to use their knowledge of supplementary angles, vertical angles, the interior sum of a triangle, and the interior sum of a quadrilateral to solve the puzzles.
In an effort to keep things light around the school we created various spirit days this month for the teachers. Today was Holiday Day in February!! Don’t they look nice?
Students in 8th Grade Team Gold celebrated the 100th day of school in Mrs. Lundmark, Ms. Wolterstorff, and Mrs. Kanak's classes today. Some of the activities included coming up with 100 different ways to write 100, trying to spend as close as they could to $100 without going over, doing jumping jacks for 100 seconds, writing a poem with 100 words, and more. It was a great day in the Gold hallway!
8th grade math team competed in the MathCounts competition at Olivet this morning. The team took home first place trophies, and Hayden Berens and Owen Marcukaitis won first and second place as individuals.
Out of 31 teams! The BUGC Cheerleaders placed 2nd in the state of Illinois! Let's go!

Congratulations to our BUGC spelling bee winners! Davis won 1st place with the word “visite.” Braedon won 2nd place, and Joe won 3rd place. Excellent job to all of the spelling bee participants! They spelled some very tough words!
