Here's another example from 1st grade, Mrs. Skutt's class~ In first grade our essential question is “How do books change lives around the world?” With Green Eggs and Ham, we are working to answer the focus question, “How do books change my life?” We began this focus arc by reading and listening to Green Eggs and Ham. The students worked with a partner to notice what they saw. They then worked with their partner to wonder and create questions. The following day students worked in partners to act out either the problem or resolution to the story.
