The fourth Grade students were AWESOME today!!! They worked so hard and tried their very best. Their behavior was fabulous! The teachers of these students should be so proud! We did not place, but they gave it everything they had! The theme was: Food is Life. The students had to make an ice cooler to keep a bottle of water frozen, they had to make bread that would rise without a recipe, they had to make a food truck, menus, and expense sheets and present them. They had a one minute challenge identifying different logos. It was a day full of challenges. I am so proud of each and every one of them.

The sixth grade are the Team Steam Champs!! They earned first place today!!!
The fifth grade challenged them all the way and earned second place!!!
It was a day of creating a cooler to keep their water bottle frozen, to designing a food truck, menu, and ways to advertise it. There was a food poisoning outbreak and they had to complete the math to figure out which food caused it. Also, they had to make bread rise with no recipe. It was quite a day!!!
I am so proud of these teams!!!

We celebrated our 5th graders today in their D.A.R.E. Graduation. D.A.R.E has broadened its focus to encompass bulling, peer pressure, and a way to deal with all of life's uncertainties and challenges. D.A.R.E now aims to empower students to stand for what they believe in and to communicate their opinions and decisions clearly and respectfully. We will forever be grateful for Officer Garcia 7 years he has had in our district. He will forever be a motivating leader for our students. He will be missed very much.
