BUGC CHEER TRYOUTS ARE FINALLY HERE!
Tryouts will be Monday February 8th, Tuesday February 9th and Wednesday February 10th.
6th, 7th and 8th graders are welcome to try out.
Tryouts will take place in the new Liberty gym.
Times for tryouts will be sent out on Friday!
You must have an up-to-date sports physical on file at school. If you have not turned one in, please bring it to your school nurse before tryouts.
COVID-19 restrictions will make things look a little different than normal, but we are confident that our students will be able to follow the new guidelines so that we can make the best of it!
We will maintain 6 feet apart from each other at all times. We will wear masks the entire time and will be speaking our cheers, not yelling them. When tumbling and stunting, we will sanitize hands before touching the mats.

REMINDER FOR 8th Grade BUGC Students:
The cost for graduation cap/gown/tassel is $32.00, due on February 16th & 17th, 2021. To pay the fee for the gown/cap/tassel please send a check or money order payable to “Jostens” and return to school with your 8th grade child. Use the envelope provided by Jostens. The envelope should include the student’s name and a contact phone number, when returned on February 16th & 17th, 2021. These are the dates students will be measured for their caps and gowns. Students who are fully remote can come to the school for their measurements on Feb. 16th or 17th between the times of 8:15 am and 11:15 am.

February is Teen Dating Violence Prevention Month! Did you know that 1 in 3 adolescents experience physical, sexual, emotional or verbal abuse from a dating partner?
Research shows that parents play the biggest role in preventing teen dating violence and the most effective strategy is to talk and listen to your teen on an ongoing basis. It might seem intimidating to have these conversations, but it doesn’t have to be!
Register NOW for Clove Alliance’s FREE Heart to Heart with Your Teen month long event. By registering, you will receive
· 20 daily conversation cards (one for each weekday of the month)
· A tip guide
· Treats for you and your teen to enjoy together to make your conversations “sweeter”!
This program is recommended for parents of teens ages 13-18. Even if your teen has not begun dating yet, these conversations are still extremely relevant and a great prevention tool!

HERE IS THE LATEST MESSAGE FROM THE IESA:
WE HAVE RECEIVED AN OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT FROM THE GOVERNOR'S OFFICE THAT THE STATE OF ILLINOIS REMAINS IN TIER 3 MITIGATIONS. AS A RESULT, ALL SCHOOL ACTIVITIES REMAIN "PAUSED" AND NO PRACTICES OR INTERSCHOLASTIC CONTESTS MAY BE HELD. BOYS BASKETBALL PRACTICE WHICH IS SCHEDULED TO BEGIN JANUARY 4 MAY NOT START ON THAT DATE AND I BELIEVE IT IS SAFE TO ASSUME THAT GIRLS VOLLEYBALL SHOULD BE PAUSED AS WELL WHEN IT IS SCHEDULED TO START JANUARY 11.
