6th Grades 4th R is on Tuesday, Oct 29th
Students will be transported to and from Brookmont Bowling Alley
Team Freedom goes from 9:30a to 11:30a
Team USA goes from 12:15p to 2:15p
Parent permission slips need to be turned in for this event along with $6.
What an amazing thing you all have done in showing support for one of our fellow Team Liberty members. The kindness and generosity our families, students, teachers, and community has shown for Urva and the Purohit family is truly overwhelming. Thank you all for your support! The students in Mrs. Riegel’s 6th grade science class are making a model of a plant cell. They are turning their plant cell into a city. They have to show how all the organelles would be represented in a city by how the plant cell/the city runs. The students are being super creative! Can’t wait to see the finished projects!
2019 Liberty Basketball Tryouts (6th Grade)

Wednesday, October 16th 3-5pm
** Athletes need to be present both days **
*Multi-sport athletes are encouraged, but Liberty Basketball will take priority over other sports**
In order to tryout you must:
1) Turn in a signed insurance waiver form which you can be picked up in the PE and/or Main office.
2) Must have an up-to-date physical on file with the school. A physical is good for one year from its date.

Practices start Thursday October 17th 3-5pm.
There will be a MANDATORY parent meeting Friday October 18th after practice from 5-5:30pm.

Mrs. Edmonson's class would like to thank our awesome PTA for the flexible seating options they provided last year. Students can purchase use of the butterfly chair by redeeming earned work habits tickets. Today was the perfect day to enjoy such cozy chairs :)
Mrs Lyle's 5th grade class is learning about chemical changes. Students are engaged in the learning process and showing their understanding of the content through their work.

6th grade science was exploring bacteria! The students prepared and peeled three potatoes earlier in the week. Which potato will last the longest? The potato with warm water and soap? The potato with hand sanitizer? Or the potato with dirty unwashed hands? Ask your students what happened!

BESD 53 Boys' Cross Country team won the St. Paul Invitational on Thursday evening. The Girls' team took second place. Great performances by both teams!!!!
Liberty picture day is September 18th. Students have already received their picture packet. Please make sure they bring their packet to school on the day of pictures. If for some reason your child is absent on this day, there will be a retake date. Date for retakes is still TBD.
Liberty Announcement for 5th Grade - Lets talk camp! On Tuesday September 10th at 6pm there will be a parent meeting for Camp Tecumseh. This will be at Liberty in the MPR.
Last Friday, the Liberty staff and students participated in their annual Kick-Off Assembly. Students learned about what it means to be part of Team Liberty and the expectations set forth to help achieve excellence. Students and staff competed in fun games to help show that we're all part of Team Liberty. Of course, the teachers dominated the competitions but were great sports in supporting our students. What a great way to start of 2019-2020!!! Go Tigers!
Just a reminder to parents as the school year has started moving along. Due to district policy, we do not celebrate birthdays at school. For example, no treats, goodie bags, invitations etc. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
