RedRibbon

Shabbona Families,

Red Ribbon Week will be celebrated the week of October 23-31, 2022. It's an ideal way for schools and communities to unite to take a visible stand against drug misuse. This year’s theme is “Celebrate LIFE. Live Drug Free.”

We would like students and families to show their creativity in honor of Red Ribbon Week by participating in our Coloring Contest!  The coloring contest was designed in a unique way to include a wide range of ages. It will be featured in the weekend edition of The Daily Journal on October 15-16. Attached is the coloring contest design to share with teachers for their class's participation.

Student designed billboards and radio Public Service Announcements, as well as the illumination of the Kankakee County Courthouse in Red will be ways that we will commemorate Red Ribbon Week throughout the community.

National Prescription Drug Take Back Day will be held on Saturday, October 29, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Northfield Square Mall in Bourbonnais. This will be a DRIVE-THRU drop off event. We will collaborate with local law enforcement and community partners to allow the public an opportunity to safely dispose of unwanted medications from their homes.
