Dear Shepard Parents and Guardians,
We’re excited to welcome our students back on Wednesday, August 20th for a full day of school from 8:45-3:30! As we prepare for the first day, please review the important reminders below to help ensure a smooth start:
Car Rider Reminders:
If your child is a car rider (grades K-3), please stay in your vehicle during drop-off. Our staff will assist your child safely into the building.
Pre-K parents must park and walk their child to Door 3W, where a staff member will meet you.
To support building safety procedures, parents will not be allowed to walk children to their classrooms. We’ll have plenty of staff on hand to guide all students safely to their rooms.

Bus Rider Information:
Bus route information is still being updated, so we encourage you to check Skyward frequently — especially the night before school — for the most accurate pick-up and drop-off times.
If no route is listed yet, check again on Friday, August 15th, as updates from the Transportation Department are ongoing.
Allow a 10-minute window before and after your scheduled time for both pick-up and drop-off for the first few weeks of school.
Additional Parent Information:
You may view your child's classroom teacher assignment on Wednesday, August 13th, beginning at 9 am, through your Skyward Parent Portal.
For more Shepard-specific information, including arrival/dismissal procedures, please view our Parent Information Slides here:

Parent and Guardians-

We will hold our in-person residency verification event at Liberty Intermediate School on August 7, 2025, from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. (New Families or those who still need to register are also welcome to attend during these hours.)

Families will be required to bring documentation from both Category One and Category Two to verify residency. For further information on the documents that will be accepted, please see the attached flyers.

If you are unable to attend the August residency date, you must call to schedule an appointment with either your child’s building secretary or the District Registrar. These appointments must take place between August 7 and August 15.

Please note:
👉 If residency is not verified by August 15, your student will not have access to their class schedule.

Hello Shepard Families, Believe it or not, the school year is quickly coming to an end! We hope this continues to be a fantastic school year for you and your child. As a fun way of celebrating the last weeks of school, we will end the year with an ABC Countdown to Summer Break! During the final 26 days of the school year, we have a theme or activity planned for each letter of the alphabet. Your child is encouraged to participate in each day’s theme or activity. Please do not feel obligated to buy anything special to go with these days. We think most items are things you already have at home. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1rwK_X7P-0VqGX5e56kLBlcT8Cl22zt6YHkwhmOl0z-Y/edit?usp=sharing

1st Grade Shepard Families, We are so glad we'll still be able to have our spring program tomorrow morning. We will delay opening the doors until 9:15 am so students can have a short rehearsal. We ask that you avoid arriving before then to prevent overcrowding in our foyer area. We appreciate your flexibility and look forward to a wonderful morning of music.

Hello Shepard Parents/Guardians, Car riders, if you pick up your student at the end of the day, please remember to keep your car rider tag on the rearview mirror until your student is in the car. If you have to help your student buckle, we ask that you pull forward and park to do so. It is our goal to make the dismissal line safe and efficient so we can get families through quickly. -Please look at the attached slides containing important information about our procedures at Shepard. This can also be found on our Shepard webpage under the "About Us" section. For the safety of all, DO NOT park and walk your child to the building. Remain in your vehicle in the car rider line. This is extremely important and will allow our line to move quickly. Thank you for your cooperation!
