In April, our bilingual teachers teamed up with the Bilingual Parent Advisory Committee (BPAC) to host a special visit to the Bourbonnais Fire Protection District. This meaningful event brought together students, families, and first responders for an afternoon of appreciation, learning, and community building.

With more than 45 attendees, the event was a wonderful opportunity for families in the bilingual program to engage with local firefighters, express their gratitude with homemade treats, and learn important lessons about fire safety. Students had the chance to explore the fire station, ask questions, and get a close-up look at fire equipment, all while strengthening their understanding of safety procedures in a fun and interactive setting.

This initiative highlights the bilingual program’s commitment not only to academic achievement, but also to fostering strong community partnerships and cultural pride. Special thanks to the Bourbonnais Fire Protection District for welcoming our families and to everyone who helped make the day a success!
