ABOUT US
WELCOME PARENTS AND STUDENTS
Dear Liberty Families,
Liberty Intermediate School is a high functioning Professional Learning Community that focuses on the learning of ALL students. Students will enhance their understanding of the grade level essential skills and create meaningful connections to their learning. Students are placed with a teacher pair that will help to ensure learning in the core content areas. One teacher will teach Math and Science and the other English Language Arts and Social Studies. Teacher pairs will work to collaborate and provide the best support for our students.
We will help provide opportunities for our students to develop independence, self-advocacy, and empathy skills. The intermediate experience truly focuses on the growth of the whole child. Our students move from a traditional elementary school structure, with one teacher, to one that has multiple teachers and multiple transitions. To enhance their experience, our students have the opportunity to Explore a variety of different specials. Students rotate throughout the year to our different Explore options of Art, Technology, Music, and Spanish. Students also participate in a quality physical education curriculum.
Students will be supported on their challenging educational journey where mistakes lead to learning and accomplishment. Within our daily structure, there is also a focus on providing key interventions and enrichment opportunities for our students.
Students will also have Social Emotional Learning built into their schedule.
Student School Hours: 7:30-2:15 (Doors open at 7:15 for entry into the building)
Sincerely,
Bret Pignatiello, Principal
Marissa Maciejewski, Associate Principal
