8th grade BUGC students had the honor of listening to guest presenter and former principal of BUGC, Mr. Dave Nelson this week. Mr. Nelson spoke of his father’s journey through WWII. Staff Sergeant Albert Nelson bravely fought in the 1st Army in five major battles including the Battle of the Bulge and D-Day.
Mr. Dave Nelson got the inspiration to research and follow his dad’s journey after visiting the WWII museum in New Orleans. Thank you, Mr. Nelson for your presentation!
Brook Schwob proudly wore Staff Sergeant Albert’s uniform jacket while we learned about the different patches and pins. Brook aspires to join the ROTC program at ONU after she graduates high school.
