Dear 5th grade Parents/Guardians:
Due to unsafe weather conditions forecasted for next week, Camp Tecumseh has been postponed until the week of March 11th - March 15th.
Chaperones that are negatively impacted by this change need to notify the school as soon as possible. We will need to make appropriate arrangements for replacement chaperones.
Also, if the date change causes any individual to not be able to attend the Camp Tecumseh trip, a refund will be distributed.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, but we want to ensure the safety of our students, staff, and chaperones. We also want to ensure that all participants get to experience all aspects of the Camp Tecumseh trip and the weather would hinder that possibility.
Please contact Mrs. Coughenour or Mr. Ruberry with any questions or concerns.
Thank you for being understanding!
Liberty Parents: There is no after school RtI this week due to MAP testing. RtI resumes next week for those students that attend.

The 6th graders at Liberty are investigating mixtures! They are using sand, sugar, and mayonnaise to determine which are heterogeneous and homogeneous mixtures. Which, do you think, mix into a solution, colloid, or a suspension? Mrs. Riegel loves how well her students work together to investigate!!!!
Late Bus: Attention parents, Liberty bus 16 is running approximately 15 minutes behind. Early dismissal was at 10:45 and students are waiting supervised at Liberty.
Reminder to Liberty parents. Today at Liberty, staff and students will be participating in ALICE training from 8:00-10:45am. Students will be viewing a presentation from Officer Garcia and participating in scripted scenarios to practice the ALICE techniques.
6th grade reading classes are engulfed in the novel Esperanza Rising. Emmeline Sovinski brought in a yarn doll, she made, to show Mr. Burda’s Advanced Reading class. The doll is exactly like the one described in the book. Emmaline talked to the class, explaining the basic steps taken to make the doll. Emmeline is also able to crochet and knit, so she is using her skills to inspire others to make a yarn doll of their own.
Liberty 5th and 6th grade students participated in Open Mic night at Bourbonnais Public Library. Mrs Edmonson was instrumental in the organization of the event. Those in attendance had a fun night with original and famous poetry, stories, and jokes. Many families came and listened to their children read aloud and deliver performances. Even a few siblings joined in on the fun!

The 5th Grade Math Team competed in their first competition of the year! They were amazing! They LOVE MATH!

Liberty students show off some of their art skills by creating designs to paint on the wall inside the PRIDE Room.

Students in 6th grade are working in small groups to find textual evidence from their novel Bud, not Buddy. It's incredible to come down the hallway on various days and see them strewn about engaged in learning.
