Mrs. Carroll is in her sixth year of teaching in the Bourbonnais District. She teaches 5th grade Orchestra at Liberty, 7th and 8th grade Orchestra at BUGC, and 4th grade General Music at LeVasseur. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education from Olivet Nazarene University and her Masters degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Olivet Nazarene University. Aside from teaching private cello lessons, Mrs. Carroll plays the cello at her church and in the Kankakee Valley Symphony Orchestra.


Mrs. Chaparro is the director of the BESD 5th through 8th grade Choral Department and General Music teacher for 5th and 6th grade at Liberty Intermediate. I have been teaching music for the past 11 years. I am a graduate of Olivet Nazarene University and started my teaching career in New Lenox Illinois. I have been in the Bourbonnais school district for the past 4 years. I spend a lot of my free time acting in or directing music for shows presented by the Kankakee Valley Theatre Association.


Heather Crooks currently teaches 5th and 6th grade band at Liberty Intermediate School, as well as the small group lessons for all band students at Liberty. She also teaches General Music at Robert Frost School. Miss Crooks was born and raised in Bourbonnais, and attended the Bourbonnais Elementary School District. She attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and graduated with a Bachelor of Music Education in May, 2004. She has been teaching in the Bourbonnais School District since September, 2004. Miss Crooks received her Master of Music Education from the VanderCook College of Music in July of 2010. Outside of her teaching responsibilities, Miss Crooks has been a member of the Theatiki Fife and Drum Corps, and the River Valley Wind Ensemble. She also plays in other local groups throughout the area. Miss Crooks enjoys going to the beach (especially in the San Diego area), hanging out and talking to friends and family, and playing with her loveable black lab, Max.
