Assessing our students

Our district assessment system is used to identify students that are at risk, or are not achieving at a typical rate. We use the Dynamic Indicator of Basic Early Literacy (DIBELS) in grades K-3, and the Measurement of Academic Progress (MAP)in grades K-8 as our tools for this purpose. We have provided links on this page if you would like to read more about either of these assessments. Your child's teacher will send home individual student reports so that you know how your child is doing.

We also administer the Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers (PARCC) test to all students in grades 3-8 every Spring. This assessment covers Language Arts and Mathematics and is scored by the State. At the October Parent Teacher Conferences we will be sending home the results from the test that was given in March and April of 2017. There are links to the right to help you read this report or actually try test items yourself. The students will take this test in March of 2018 and the State Board of Education is hoping to have the results back to the district by June of 2018. This spring (Spring 2018) our 5th and 8th graders will also take the Illinois Science Test. We have yet to receive the results of the Illinois Science Test administered in the Spring of 2017.

The Assessment Calendar will help you to see when your child is taking each of these assessments.
