Shepard students won’t “LEGO” of their reading skills over the summer after today’s Summer Reading Kickoff Assembly! Teachers challenged students in a ”minute to win it” lego building game! Thanks to Emcee McDowell for an awesome assembly! Thank you also to our friends at the Bourbonnais Public Library for kicking off their program too!
The Shepard 2nd grade DQ trip has been postponed to tomorrow, Friday May 31st at the same time.
Mrs. Bretveld's class at Shepard would like to thank the PTA for helping fund these awesome items for her 4th grade classroom. They now have baskets and bins to help organize the class library and student’s personal items, and also new privacy folders. Thank you again, PTA, for helping brighten each classroom here at Shepard.

Shepard School is having a "Caps for Caring Day" TOMORROW as we kickoff our Kids Heart Challenge fundraising assembly. Please have your child participate by wearing a hat of his/her choice!
Students in Mrs. DuCharme's 3rd grade class at Shepard used Halloween as an opportunity to learn about pounds and ounces. They each estimated the weight of a pumpkin. Ms. Padera won with her estimate of 16 lbs. 4 oz. She gladly gave the prize of the pumpkin to Anthony who guessed 15 lbs. 8 oz. The pumpkin weighed 16 lbs. 8 oz. Just a little math fun!!
The winners for Shepard reading night prizes were: Kindle Fires, Lilly from Mrs. Huggins' class and Ryan from Mrs. Nim's class, Google Minis, Mason from Mrs. Frazier's class and Bithiah from Mrs. McDowell's class. Congratulations!

Don't for get the Shepard spring concert tomorrow April 20th. 1st grade performs at 9:30. 2nd grade performs at 2:00. There will only be one performance per grade level.
Tomorrow February 28th is "Be a Super Hero" day at Shepard. Students may dress as a super hero. No masks or weapons please. It's also an 11:30 early dismissal day!
