Character Trait of the Month
Each month at Shabbona we focus on one Social Emotional theme. Our student of the month is selected from each classroom that exhibits these qualities.

Shabbona Announcements

  • Jump Rope for Heart at the Mall.

    Jump rope for heart
    Please come join LeVasseur, Shabbona, and Shepard physical education departments in celebrating Jump Rope for Heart.

    • Date- Friday, February 24. 6:00-8:00pm

    • Location- Northfield Square Mall- Center Court

    • Donations will be accepted, but not expected

    • American Heart t-shirts will be for sale for $10.00 each.  Children and Adult sizes will be available

    • Please do not leave children unattended at the event.  BESD53 and Northfield Square Mall are not responsible for your children.

    • Anyone can jump (They do not have to be students of the BESD53 School District)

     School begins at 8:30. You may drop your student off as early as  8:15 AM. School ends at 3:30. All transportation changes must be made at least 90 minutes before the end of the day. This means by 2:00pm on a regular school day, by 10:30 on a Schedule A day and by 12:30 on a Schedule B day. Please send a note with your child or call the office to make a change.  All new bussing changes must be made at least 24 hours in advance.

  • Box Top Send in Box Tops for Education!-
    Please send in Box Tops for Education with your child.  The class that has collected the most of these this school year will receive a prize!

  • Lost and Found
    Remind your child to check Lost and Found, located in the cafeteria, for missing items.  We have a large collection! You can also call the bus garage for missing items. 815-929-5150. Please label coats etc. and lunch bags/boxes with your child's name.

  • Spring Concert
    Our first and second grade Spring Concert will be held in our gymnasium at 9:30 and 2:00 on Friday, April 21. The performance will be the same for both times.
